About This Web PageToday is April 5th. I have been living in Boston since December 15th. Today I am flying back to Oakland. I have been awake all night packing and cleaning and working on this website. I want to have it finished before I leave today. With this project, as I envision it, consistency matters more than quality or quantity. I am using this webpage as practice for when it is time to start building a Food Not Bombs newspaper. I started work on a Food Not Bombs website, but I decided to put that project on hold, and instead concentrate first on building a personal homepage for myself, using the same development process that I plan to use for the Food Not Bombs newspaper that I will oneday help build. So, I am trying to approach the building of a personal website as if I was building an online newspaper. This is issue one. Every issue will have a letter from the editor. That is what I am writing right now. There are only three items in this first issue of the newspaper. There is a recording of the Can Kickers that I made last Friday at the benefit show for the Jamaica Plain Freeskool. And then there is a recording of a Senegalese song that I made last week at African Dance Class. And then there is a simple campaign ad which I made for Vermin Supreme, using audio footage that I captured at a protest last week. Also, if you want, you can read my online journal for the month or look at my freeskool notebooks to see what I've been studying. I need to go now. I'm out of time. Next month, I plan to write something about the People's Park anniversary celebration, and the 40th anniversary of the Free Speech Movement. |
